Bormes is ideal for a short day trip that you can incorporate into your trip to the Côte d’Azur. In addition to the numerous cafés and restaurants, the old town has a great atmosphere. Thanks to the many plants and flowers, it is also a good place to retreat on particularly hot days and escape the midday sun until you head back to the coast in the evening.
As Bormes is situated relatively high up on the mountain, you have a great view of the French coast from almost everywhere. The best place from our point of view is the Point de vue Bormes Village.

Unfortunately, we missed this great restaurant as it is closed in the low season. According to good friends of ours, Le Jardin was the best restaurant on their two-week trip along the Côte d’Azur. See for yourselves!

The Lou Portaou is located in the heart of Bormes. It feels like you’re sitting in the middle of nature. You should definitely grab a bite to eat here, especially if it’s very warm in summer, as you can sit in the shade thanks to the many trees.
Boho interior fans take note! The Coco Beach restaurant & bar is not located directly in Bormes les Mimosas. You have to drive about 15 minutes by car to Le Lavandou. Believe us, the journey is definitely worth it. In a small bay, you can unwind with fantastic food.

Probably the most impressive hotel we found right in Bormes les Mimosas! Located on the mountain, you have a breathtaking view of the town and can even see the sea in the distance. Due to its location, the Eden Rose Grand Hotel is also a little more expensive at around €200 per night.
Are you more of a holiday flat type? Then Le Loft is just right for you at around €90 per night. It is very well equipped with all the necessary kitchen and living utensils. The view of the sea makes the accommodation a real hidden gem.

Summary
Bormes les Mimosas was definitely worth a visit for us! This place should definitely not be missed on a tour of the Côte d’Azur. All the flowers and plants in the city centre make you feel like you’re walking in a botanical garden, which is really something special.
How to get around
From our point of view, rent car is the best way to explore Bormes les Mimosas and the surrounding places, as you are the most flexible and can get from place to place.
Travel time
Between May and September you’ll probably experience very high temperatures and sunshine most of the time.
During offseason in April and October you’ll have still sunny days but the temperature starts falling to 13-18°C.
